Filler.

Phil's SmileyI feel bad that I haven’t been blogging much.
the problem is that my life is not very interesting, to be honest. But I have had some good things happen lately. It’s been really good. On Saturday, I went to Homestead and helped paint a classroom in a tiny school for the children of some farm workers that live near there. It made me happy that I finally gave back to the community, hehe. It was funny because we painted the walls blue and the trim another type of blue which was about half shade darker. No one could tell the difference between the two so there was this joke that when people asked which paint was which, we’d tell them that one was blue and there other was was…uhhh…blue. Oh, by the way, when it comes to painting, I’m an expert cutter [yes that does sounds pretty emo!]. Before that, my youth group had a lockdown thing at church where we sang some songs and played some games until midnight then slept over to go to Homestead together. Pretty fun stuff. Next week is going to be pretty much the same…Two of my friends and I are sleeping over my other friend’s house and the next morning we are going to be painting a room at church which the four of us use to have our Bible study every Sunday morning becuase the room is pretty ugly. THE NEXT WEEKEND, I will be going to Jacksonville for 4 days to do some more community service. I feel so useful.

Hmmmmm what else…
Today, I got to leave school at 10:45 am :D
And tomorrow I get to skip English because I have an appointment, and if this tropical storm doesn’t come then my church will be having a Harvest Festival at night which is always entertaining.
YES, THE HARVEST FEST WAS POSTPONED. Bleh :[

This post is pretty uninteresting, isn’t it?

Spirit Week (:

What was your favorite Spirit Week theme in high school?
[yes I am still in high school. make fun if you must!]
Mine is officially Tacky Tourists Day.
I went all out with…
-A ’souvenir t-shirt’. Ya know, those t-shirts in gift shops that have a random cartoon character [in my case, Spongebob] and the name of the city or state you’re visiting [in my case, Florida].
- A bright red Hawaiian shirt with big white flowers over the t-shirt.
- A fishing hat with the Florida Marlins emblem on it.
- My camera [with the strap, of course] around my neck.
- Flip flops with socks.
- A bright pink and orange beach bag with pink palm tress on it.

One of the only things I like about Florida is getting to mock the strange people that vacation here (:

It’s been pretty slow lately…

So I’ll just write some random thoughts.
- This weekend and upcoming week are gonna be pretty cool. My little sister’s party is today. Yes I know that a 6-year-old’s birthday party doesn’t seem like a big deal but some of my sister’s friends are my best friend’s little sisters so I can hang out with my friend and whatnot. Plus the party is at my pastor’s house and his daughter is also one of my best friends. It’s better than staying home all day (:

- Tomorrow is Sunday, which is always my favorite because I love church. My church pwns and ’tis very fun. We’re pretty informal so you don’t feel all stiff or uncomfortable at all. It’s great. And they have coffee and good food in the mornings. Coffee is more than enough :D

- This upcoming week is spirit week at my school. The themes this year are Nerd Day, Western Day, Tacky Tourists Day [I have the perfect Hawaiian shirt for it], and Spirit Day. Then Friday there is no school and I might have a sleepover with some of my friends.

- I’ve finally learned 20 songs on the guitar. I still can’t play them that well but with some more practice and a smaller guitar [which I will get in December] I hope to get really good at playing guitar. I mean I’m not very good at piano, which is harder to play songs on since they usually require two or more chords being played at once with botht of your hands going all over the place. And I’m good at clarinet but I quit band this year because it’s boring for me and I can’t really ‘rock out’ on clarinet, anyway. I’m pretty sure.

P.S. My friend told me yesterday that in 3rd grade he used to play the pianica [yes a piano and harmonica hybrid] which is a mini keyboard with a tube in it that you blow through to make it work. It’s probably the most hilarious instrument I’ve ever heard of.

Kutless/Newsboys/Those guys.

Ok so last night I went to see Kutless, Newsboys, and some new band called Newworldson. The concert was amazing. I mean when you wake up with your throat hurting from screaming/singing and your legs are sore from jumping, you know you had a good time.

First up was Newworldson. EH. My friend and I used their time slot trying to find a good seat. Maybe it’s that they’re not my style or something, but they were very forgettable. And I mean it’s easy to forget them when they came before Kutless and Newsboys who, especially the latter, put on a great show. Newworldson’s music is mostly, this gospel blues stuff which I must say is not one of my favorite music genres. Luckily they left quickly and Kutless came out.

Kutless was pretty amazing. They were very interactive with the audience and very high energy. I got really into the music, which brought along a nice workout consisting of only jumping up and down. It was great. The only problem is that they only played about 7 songs and missed some pretty popular songs including ‘Promise of a Lifetime’. I mean I don’t own their CD so I know less songs than die hard fans, but their set was pretty good. One of Kutless’ highlights was Jon Micah Sumrall’s super sick [in a good way] jump of about 5 of 6 feet. And he did not fall. At least from what I saw. Hehe.  I also got to meet the band [and Jon's son, Caleb] and of course told Nick tat he has the coolest hair in the world. According to James, I was the ninth person that night to say that (:

Newsboys totally pwned. Not only were they really amazing musically but they also put on a show with confetti, strobe lights, smoke machines, cool elevated platforms about 20 feet in the air. One of them had the drums on it [and the drummer, duh] which later in the show, turned completely to the side and spun around 360 degrees while Duncan was still playing. Wow. Their set was amaaaaaaaazing. They played all their popular songs and only had 2 or 3 new songs which were all good and easy to follow after a while. They played some new Newsboys but also some old school, so they pleased many who were a bit older. Peter gave his testimony and led a simple prayer for salvation for those who hadn’t prayed it yet. He was serisou enough to impact you but humorous enough to keep the mood light. They played for what seemed for forever but I’m happy they did. I cannot stress enough how amazing they were.

So if you get the chance to go to the Go Tour, take it!
You won’t regret it (:

Click here for pictures! [I had to rely a lot on zoom which decreases quality so they pictures are NOT good]

Hmph.

From a Myspace bulletin…

“Phil has added a new show in Redding, CA on October 17! “

Oh Philip. Are you kidding me? Tsk tsk.
He adds a show in a place that I’ve never heard of in my life and he won’t add a show in Miami? I mean I bet I’d love Redding, California and all seeing that it is NOT Miami. But to me it makes A LITTLE sense to add a show in Miami where the population is huge. There are plenty of people here willing to pay to see him. The people who aren’t will be dragged there by their friends and would get to hear the the good news through Phil’s awesome songs. I have no doubt that more people have heard of Miami, FL than of Redding, CA. Whoever lives in Redding, CA is way luckier than I am.

end rant. [for now]

Hehe. I won Phil Wickham’s Myspace Friend Contest this week. Raquel is happy.

I won ANOTHER copy of Cannons, an iTunes giftcard and I really hope I get the new iPod. My current one’s memory is almost full.

Well that’s it.

Somewhere we live inside.

Well of course today started off with church. I had to help with the little girls’ sunday school class and I had to take three of them to the bathroom. One of them kept on turning off the lights and the other two were screaming in the bathroom while there were some random people in there. Bleh, sometimes I just cannot tolerate small children. Today was one of those times. But it got better right after that ended.

I went back for youth group where we played what I call ’sculpt-tionary’ which is what it sounds like. Apparently I’m a pretty good sculptor (sculptress?) because I won a bag of Laffy Taffy. Great. We then had a small bible study and talked about how Christians have less rights than the regular American becuase becoming a Christian involves giving up the right to be served. Instead you should serve other people. So as an application of the study , the youth leader informed us that we were going to scrub the carpet and all the chairs in the church. We ended up making a mess with Resolve and some other commercial carpet cleaner and probably didn’t take out any stains in the carpet or chairs. Hehe. But it was pretty fun. We had some dc talk on and would occasionally refuel our energy with some sugar. Finally, I got dropped off at home along with my friend. We were reminiscing about the past summer and our friend Christopher from Nebraska [go Huskers] singing ‘Meant To Live’ by Switchfoot. But he was so bad that we made him stop after the first couple lines and that’s the only part of the song I remember. That one line has been stuck in my head ALL night so I finally downloaded it so I can actually sing the entire song not only…

“We were meant to live for so much more
Have we lost ourselves?”

But honestly, that’s a good part of the song to remember.

G’nite.

NEW: Photography update!

Yeah so go check out the photography page up there. The new ones are the first ones. AND also something really random…

I was wondering when are your birthdays? Like if you regularly comment and/or read my blog, and I think you’re pretty cool, put up your birthday [not the year, of course] so I know when to congratulate you (:
Even if I don’t really know you yet, get talking and put it up, too.
If you don’t want to tell me your birthday then it’s okay!

I only have Phil’s [April 5th] so far…

Boredom has taken over.

This is probably the most pathetic blog entry I’ve ever written.
But I’m pretty bored. If anyone had something random and/or funny to say, say it in a comment. Down there. I’m gonna play some guitar, too, just incase no one cares about me. Eh, it happens.
