My phone rings. I have a new text message. I see a URL. I type it in the address bar up there (^). This is what comes up.

Phil is obviously too bored. He should just write on his blog.

Phil is obviously too bored. He should just write on his blog.
New blog idea:
Ask me a question.
ANYTHING.
Except anything too personal like my address or where I go to school.
I don’t want stalkers/serial killers following me (:
Ok so there is this conference held every two years called The Challenge Conference, or just Challenge, if you’re cool. I’m planning to go to next year’s in Salt Lake City and I’m just using this blog to promote it. I went to this conference in Indiana in ‘06 and it literally changed my life. Not only was it a great life-changing experience but I met TONS of great people and had a buttload of fun. You should go. Usually, Chris Tomlin is in charge of the music but next year Starfield will be there and I’m uber excited. And, no, you don’t have to be 14 or 15 to go. There ARE adults there. Haha. So go with some friends, your older children if you have any, or with anyone you want. A bunch of great speakers will be there, including one of my FAVORITE, Francis Chan :D
Oh and of course, you’ll be able to meet me there. Hehe, don’t get too excited.
Here is a link to a video. Watch it.
Here is a link to another video from Challenge ‘06. Watch it and laugh.
P.S. In the first video, there are many scenes from last year’s conference, including everyone waving glowsticks. At one point [not in the video], everyone just started throwing their glowsticks in the air. One of these sticks actually hit Chris Tomlin. It was pretty fun, since he wasn’t really hurt. FACT: The guy who threw the first glowstick, thus starting the chaos, is my friend Maxwell from Nebraska. When I heard this I was NOT surprised that he started it, and was just a tiny bit ashamed to actually know the person who was responsible for ALMOST hurting Chris Tomlin.
What are you thankful for? No. Really.
I am thankful for first of all, Jesus.
He’s the only one that truly understands me. Haha.
He loves me, even though I don’t deserve it by an ultra long shot.
And of course he died so just so that I don’t get what I deserve.
I am also thankful for some certain people.
My family because they put up with me (:
My really close friends here in Miami for the same reason. Haha.
My friends in distant places because they make summers that much better.
My blog readers! I’ve gotten to talk to some amazing people on here. Psh and my dad says I’m wasting time on the Internet. You make me feel like if I’m not worthless. You [pretend to] like my blogs by showing interest, you say some pretty funny things, you say some really nice things, you’re awesome.
I am thankful for music.
It keeps me sane.
It provides entertainment.
It helps me express myself through playing, singing, and sometimes writing.
Oh and I’m thankful for food!
Can’t wait for tonight. Yum.
We live in a cookie cutter nation
Desperately trying to fit into one mold
Clones running in circles, what have we done?
We’re not seeing double we’re seeing them conform
But you don’t have to fall into that trap
God knows that everyone is better than that
Be your own person, have your own mind
What’s the fun in conforming all the time?
Because in the very end,
You don’t stand in front of them
It’s not all about what people said,
But what God has to say instead.
Who are you really dying to please?
Why are you fulfilling someone else’s needs?
Clones going in circles , what have they done?
We’re not seeing double, we’re seeing them conform
But we don’t have to fall into that trap
God knows everyone is better than that
What’s “right” is wrong
What’s wrong is you
Everything you like,
Everything you do,
I’ve seen it over and over again
Is this how you want to live?

These are some lyrics I wrote when I felt like scum [hehe].
I’m not ‘emo’ or whatever but there are times when I feel people don’t want to talk to me and they think I’m annoying or something. It’s not that good but it’s the best I can do for right now. Jesus owns :P
Are You Dying to Talk to Me?
I have to accept the fact
That I’m not as great as I’d like to be
I should stop denying the truth
That people aren’t dying to talk to me
But You did
When I can’t help but feel ignored
I will put my face on the floor
I’ll tell You about my day, and You’ll stay, won’t run away
Like everyone else did
They want me to lose my voice
But You enjoy that wonderful noise
Now I know that for sure because
You were dying to talk me
I have learned to accept the fact
That no one will love me as You do
They may even not love me at all
But at least I’m sure I have You
And You have me
People will never line up just to say hello
I’m not that important to them at least now I know
People aren’t begging to hear what I have to say
But You aren’t people
You are love
You are hope
You are the one was dying to talk to me, to get to me.
The least I can do is…
When I can’t help but feel ignored
I will put my face on the floor
I’ll just tell You about my day, and You’ll stay, You won’t run away
Like everyone else did
Now I know that for sure
You’re wanting so much more
So I’m opening the door
because You were dying to talk me
As most of you know, I was gone for about 3 days. I was indeed in Jacksonville with the youth group to serve with a ministry up there and just have fun. We got there on Saturday at about 1:30 in the morning and totally knocked out. I woke up at seven, ate some breakfast, and we went to some couple’s house to fix their yard, knock down a wall, and prime a closet. My job was mostly painting the closet. It was about 2 feet by 4 feet but my friends and I are very special [ED] so we took about 4 hours to paint that tiny closet. Meanwhile, we wrote a poem about a boy and his brush. YES, we were bored. We then went back to the house we were living in and hung out with some kids from an organization called 2nd Mile Ministry and played with them there. We migrated to a park where we played football and decided we wanted to hurt our fingers. One of us got cut really badly and the other jammed his finger and it got super swollen. Fun. At night we went back to the house, had some dinner, played some Scene It, and then went to sleep. On Sunday, we went to church and us high school kids went to a ‘Sunday school’ type thing and I met this super cool girl named Caroline and some other interesting people. In the afternoon, we went to the mall to eat and listened to some German opera. NO kidding! We also played a softball game with some of the 2nd Mile kids and our team lost by about a million runs (:
We then went to our youth leader’s parents’ house where we pigged out on pizza, played some random board games, then played this game called Mafia. ‘Tis was fun. I got to kill some people and didn’t get caught. While I was there I met some MORE great people and I miss them terribly.
Finally, came Monday, also known as Phil Wickham Day. It started in the car, when I put on his newest CD to prove to my youth leader that Phil isn’t emo. It worked. We headed to St. Augustine and saw some sweet gift shops and an awesome castle. There was like 34958349583 cannons there. Coincidentally, that Phil Wickham CD we were listening to is called Cannons. I took a picture of about 7867456 cannons, in honor of Phil, and then bought myself an awesome mini-cannon. And the Phil references didn’t end there. As we were driving along, I saw a sign that said “Wickham Road- 2 miles”. I got really excited and then I saw a sign for Wickham Radio. I then declared the day Philip Wickham Day. After I got over that, we headed back to the horrible place I like to call Miami. During the whole trip, we would look out for out of state license plate and hit each other and say “Out of State *Insert State here*!”. I was bored and I came upon a Canadian license plate. Now I loooooove Canada. I’ve never been there but I mean Tom Welling lives there and they have mounties. My friends also adore Canada so we ended up waving and shouting at the people in that van with the license plate and they waved back and were most likely creeped out. We then saw they had a trailer hooked up to the back of their van with a bunch of guitar brands all over so we ASSUMED, they were a band. An awesome Canadian band, eh? We headed back to the church and the fun ended there :[
If you made it through all that, click here for some pictures of the trip!
I’m heading to Jacksonville.
So I’m going to be gone until Monday night so I won’t be reading and commenting on anyone blogs until then.
I know no one cares anyway but whatever.
WELL, except for Phil.
He’ll be so happy that I’m not here to bother him anymore.
He’ll have a party (:
