Happy December!

Yay it’s that time of year again. I don’t know what it is about December and Christmas that gets me so excited but it’s my favorite. The overall mood is just great. All the decorations are so pretty and even if I never have a white Christmas I like it when finally it gets below 60 degrees and it FEELS like Christmas. I like the little gatherings that I have with random people. I love going to Starbucks and drinking coffee [in those cute little red cups] with friends and talking about our plans for the holidays or just being random as we always are. Yesterday I did that with the family and a couple other people. We were eating these amazing [ly expensive] desserts, laughing at whatever we could, and even got some people in Starbucks to participate in our random activities. It was pretty funny. And since this was the Starbucks that I ALWAYS got to, the guy at the counter already knows me and we got to chat with him about how I’m the only person under 40 that goes to Starbucks and orders plain coffee, because apparently everyone my age only gets caramel frappucinos. I don’t blame them, though, those are really good. But they don’t really taste like coffee to me. Plus I like being different :D
Depsite of all that fun stuff about Christmas and such, a lot of people lose the real reason for the whole holiday. Which is of course the birth of Jesus. This time of year is special to me for that reason, too. It’s like a second Thanksgiving, where I thank God for sending His son down to save us. It’s also a good time to witness to people, and I pray [and you can pray for me, too] that I will be able to do that because I know it takes tons of courage that I don’t think I have. So as you get ready for Christmas, keep on reminding yourself why we celebrate Christmas and of course have fun just because I said so (:

Tonight my family went shopping, and afterwards we went down a few blocks that are dubbed “Candy Cane Lane.” Pretty much everyone within those blocks has a bunch of lights and decorations and stuff. Anyway, we were going past one house, and in front of it were a bunch of those blow-up figures like Frosty and Santa and stuff and they were all blown over on their faces. I thought it would be really awesome to take a Jesus figurine from one of the nativity scenes and set it up in front of them. Then they’d all be bowing down to the King! I think that would be totally sweet.. alas, we’re not suppose to mess with other peoples property :-P
