Signature of Divine

This poem is mostly inspired by this, but I put it in a different context to parallel my own feelings.

True Faced

The funny thing about masks
Is you can always see right through them
You think you’re fooling everyone
But you’re not really fooling anybody

If only you took off your own blinders
You’d see how exposed you really are

I would much rather have you take off that mask and lose you
Than you pretending it’s all good while I suffer, not knowing what to do
I need you to let go of this,
So I can finally let go of you

If only you were true faced
Instead of being two faced
Maybe I could trust you again

God has given you an identity
And you dare to give yourself another
You act like it’s all good
But you just keep hurting others

If you could see how bad you are at hiding
You’d see how exposed you really are

I would much rather have you take off that mask and lose you

So I can finally let go of you

And what you said was true
Maybe I could trust you once again
